What's EESTEC?
The Electrical Engineering STudents' European assoCiation is an
organization of and for electrical engineering students from universities,
institutes or schools of technology in Europe that award an engineering degree. It
was founded in Eindhoven, the Netherlands in 1986. Since 1995 it is a recognized association seated in Zürich, Switzerland. From year 2002 the EESTEC seat returned back in the Netherlands, but now in Delft. Currently there are 32 Local Committees participating.
The primary aim is to promote and develop international contacts and exchange ideas, as well as improve the technical knowledge of electrical engineering students. The association also aims to introducing students to the industry and the educational system of other countries.
How does LC Helsinki work?
LC Helsinki is working under the Guild of
Electrical Engineering (SIK) in
the Helsinki University of Technology. The yearly
schedule mostly consists of
participating in exchanges and naturally organizing them, participating in
EESTEC's congress and keeping contact to other LC's. Besides of these,
there are occasionally some recreational activities for members.
