Dear EESTECers,
We are very glad to officially announce that Congress’15 representative registration period is open. All LCs, JLCs and Observers have a chance to register their representative for Congress which will take place from 8th till 15th of May in Madrid, Spain until the of 4th of March.
The distribution of official spots will be as follows :
- 2 representatives per LC
- 1 representative per JLC
- 1 representative per Observer
Please note that if you do not register your representatives until the deadline, the International Board and COC will take the freedom to assign the free spots to Board Assistants, International Team members and Unofficials.
If you don’t have specific names until the deadline, make sure to reserve the spots of your representatives if and only if you are sure someone will attend from your commitment! In this case, please make sure to send an email to chairwoman[at]eestec[dot]net .
So do not miss the deadline for your registration!
What is Congress?
Congress is the statutory meeting of EESTEC which is held every year. As our most important event, Congress gathers each year the International Bodies of the association and representatives of all EESTEC Local Commitments.
The most important issues about the functioning of the organization are discussed. Members get to know the operations of the association and discuss them in order to decide on the next step and the next direction EESTEC will follow.
What kind of participants are expected at Congress?
It is highly recommended that LC Board members apply as representatives in Congress. However, each commitment has the right to assign the person of its choice to represent it during Congress. Nonetheless, we strongly encourage you to choose representatives with a good understanding of the EESTEC structure and culture. They should be aware of their responsibility, have previous experience in the local level (preferably International Level as well) and be ready to participate actively in Congress.
What do we expect from participants during Congress?
We expect all official representatives to be actively present in all the General Meetings of Congress. It is mandatory to attend every GM because they include important decisions which every Commitment has to be involved in.
Those decisions are concluded by the voting of the General Assembly on the :
- Reports of the International Bodies
- Promotion and termination of Commitments
- Change proposals on the Rules of Procedures
- Election of the new International Bodies
How can you apply for Congress’14?
Apply through the website and make sure to fill the Questionnaire for your application to be accepted. (You do not need to fill the motivation letter)
Please note that all spaces in the questionnaire need to be filled correctly. All incomplete applications will be disregarded.
